Frac Normandie Caen

Collection

The constantly changing Frac Normandie Caen collection with its wealth of 1,130 works is based on central lines such as abstract painting, the urban landscape, portrait and the body. More recently, the most powerful aspects of man's place in contemporary society is called into question in works in various mediums. The Frac implements about twenty fringe exhibitions per year. Lower Normandy benefits from a rotation of its collection, consisting of both young and renowned artists (Simon Hantaï, Claude Viallat, ORLAN, Sophie Calle, Claude Closky, Annette Messager, Jordi Colomer and Philippe Mayaux...).
In 2016, the Frac Basse-Normandie will move to a new site, in a cloister renovated and expanded by the architect Rudy Ricciotti.
